T.O. says he did not make Hall of Fame

Terrell OwensTerrell Owens was among 15 first-year finalists considered for nomination to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but the controversial wide receiver did not make it in.

Owens, who notably starred on the Eagles, 49ers and Cowboys, tweeted Saturday that he did not get elected.

It’s clear that T.O. cared a lot about making the Hall of Fame. Just tweeting the news showed it mattered to him and that he would like to get into Canton. Frankly, he deserves to be in too.

Once you put aside how problematic he was with the media, you see how solid his numbers are. He was a six-time Pro Bowler, five-time All-Pro, and he recorded nine 1,000-yard seasons and led the league in touchdown catches three times. He is third in NFL history in touchdown catches (153), sixth in receptions (1078) and second in receiving yards (15,934). What more would you want from a guy?
