Ex-TCU QB Trevone Boykin charged with aggravated assault

Trevone Boykin

Former TCU and Seattle Seahawk quarterback Trevone Boykin has been charged with aggravated assault amid allegations that he broke his girlfriend’s jaw.

The 24-year-old was charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, which is a second-degree felony, via Mitch Mitchell of the Star-Tribune. Boykin’s girlfriend, Shabrika Bailey, has alleged that Boykin broke her jaw and required it to be wired shut.

Boykin’s charge is punishable by between two and 20 years in prison.

Whatever comes of these allegations, Boykin’s NFL career is almost certainly over. He was released by the Seahawks once the allegations surfaced back in March, despite his public denials. He has also had multiple legal problems in the past dating back to his time at TCU, where he was a standout quarterback between 2012 and 2015.
