Report: Teddy Bridgewater expected to return around midseason
The Minnesota Vikings could have a big decision to make at some point during the middle of the season, as the quarterback they used their first-round pick on a few years back could finally be ready to return by then.
Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Network Sunday that Bridgewater is expected to be healthy enough to play after he comes off the physically unable to perform list sometime near the midseason mark.

“I am told that while he’s on the PUP list right now, he is expecting a midseason return and will be healthy enough for a midseason return,” Rapoport said. “Then, the question is what do the Vikings do? Do they activate him and have him as Bradford’s backup and (have him ready) if Bradford struggles?”
If Bradford continues to play the way he did against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, there is no way the Vikings would bench him. However, he is dealing with a knee injury of his own. Bradford is expected to play in Week 2, but any knee injury for a player who has suffered two torn ACLs in the past is a concern.
The Vikings have at least two months before they have to decide what to do with Bridgewater, so they will likely let the play of Bradford and the team make the decision for them.
