Report: Teryl Austin in negotiations to become Bengals DC
Teryl Austin may be headed for a new home.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday evening that Austin is in negotiations to become the Cincinnati Bengals’ new defensive coordinator.
Sources: The #Bengals are in negotiations to make former #Lions DC Teryl Austin their new defensive coordinator. Not done yet, but headed that way.

The Bengals have a vacancy at DC with Paul Guenther set to join Jon Gruden’s staff on the Oakland Raiders.
Most reports have pegged New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia as the likely head coach hire for the Lions, which means he would probably want to bring in his own defensive coordinator.
Austin, 52, has been the Lions’ defensive coordinator since 2014. His defense was No. 3 in points allowed in 2014, but they dropped to 21st this season and 27th in yards allowed.
