Texans stick rookie KJ Dillon with $16,000 dinner bill

Several members of the Houston Texans celebrated their big Week 15 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars by going out to dinner Monday night. As you might expect, they racked up quite the tab. And some poor rookie may have had to cover it.

Safety KJ Dillon, the team’s fifth-round draft pick, tweeted the following photo of a bill in excess of $16,000.

The $7,700 in Hennessy seems just a bit excessive.

To make matters worse, Dillon says he was the guy who ordered the caesar salad and he didn’t drink any alcohol.

While it’s possible the rookie may have been joking (we’ve seen fake rookie dinner bills in the past), it seems like he was serious. Heck, the poor guy even had to bring his lunch to work on Tuesday.

The tab Dillon supposedly had to pay wasn’t nearly as hefty as the one Dez Bryant’s teammates made him pick up, but Dillon’s rookie contract includes just over $200,000 in guaranteed money. It’s not like the guy is swimming in cash. Hopefully the team helps him out with some of that.
