Thomas Davis says being labeled dirty is ‘very unfair’

Thomas Davis

Thomas Davis is not pleased that his reputation took a hit following his crushing blow on Davante Adams two weeks ago that left the Green Bay Packers receiver with a concussion.

The Carolina Panthers linebacker spoke with the media on Thursday and said it was “very unfair” to be labeled as dirty for the hit.

“Very unfair. I’ve seen a lot of stuff that’s been said. Obviously people are going to form their own opinions based on what they saw. But at the end of the day, 13 years I played this game the right way. I can rest easy,” Davis said in a video shared by ESPN’s David Newton.

Davis expressed immediate regret over the hit that landed him a one-game suspension. He has been an advocate for player safety in the past, so it’s not surprising that he feels remorseful about what happened. Knowing that about him makes it easier to believe that he did not intend malice but got caught up in a play on the field.
