Titus Young tweets then deletes apology to Lions fans

Titus Youngstrong>Titus Young was once an incredibly promising young wide receiver who brought nothing but disappointment to Detroit Lions fans. Young had the potential to be great in developing with Matthew Stafford and Detroit’s offense after he was drafted in the second round in 2011, but he quickly turned into a headache.

One of the ways Young, who was released earlier this offseason, forced his way out of Detroit was by saying stupid things on Twitter and making the team look bad. According to the Detroit Free Press, the former Boise State star actually tweeted something sensible on Tuesday morning, but he quickly deleted it.

“I apologize to the Detroit fans, Thank you, for the 2 years of Love and joy,” Young reportedly tweeted just after 1:00 a.m.

He tweeted “Thank Jesus amen” a few minutes later, but that tweet has also disappeared.

Phew, that was close. For a second there it almost seemed like Young was going to do something that isn’t as dumb as punching a teammate or telling your team to cut you. However, that would have been extremely unusual for Titus, so we’re glad he deleted the tweets. As humans, most of us are hesitant to deal with change. An apology from Titus Young might be too much to take in at once.
