Todd McShay explains the ‘Double D test’ and it’s hilarious

Todd McShayESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay was on “SportsCenter” Tuesday along with Mel Kiper Jr. to discuss some of the red flags he’s seen in the upcoming draft. During the discussion, McShay shared one of the funniest terms I’ve ever heard relating to the draft.

On Monday, it was reported that around 10 players tested positive at the scouting combine. Former Indianapolis Colts GM Bill Polian said that those positive tests were huge red flags to him and a reason for him to remove a player from his draft board. That’s when McShay delivered the great line.

“It’s not necessarily about smoking marijuana, it’s really the ‘Double D test,’ said McShay. “It’s dependent or dumb. Because either you’re dependent, or you’re dumb. And you can’t figure out that you’re going to be tested here and that you have to stop smoking for a little while in order to not have a positive test.”

We’ve been saying the same thing about these positive tests for years. If you know the test is coming, how dumb do you have to be to still smoke weed ahead of time? You’re just costing yourself millions by doing it, so like McShay says, you’re either dependent or dumb.

This is also probably one of the few times in a life a pair of Double D’s are a bad thing.
