Tom Brady reportedly receives $5 million in performance incentives
The New England Patriots are looking to provide Tom Brady with more compensation for the upcoming season.
The Pats reportedly have adjusted Brady’s contract to give him the chance to make $5 million in performance-based incentives, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
According to the six-year deal he signed in 2013, Brady is making $14 million in base salary this season and next. His market value as still the best quarterback in the NFL would call for him to make well over $20 million per season, so this addition could help bring him closer to what he could freely earn.
Brady, 41, passed for 4,577 yards, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions while leading the Patriots to the Super Bowl last season.
