Tom Brady agent Don Yee: Roger Goodell ignored electronic information

Tom Brady had no luck appealing his four-game suspension in front of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and his agent is not surprised.

Shortly after it was announced on Tuesday that Brady’s suspension has been upheld, Brady’s agent Don Yee called the appeal process a “sham” and said he is not surprised with the result. He also insisted that neither Brady nor the Patriots did anything wrong.

In addition, Yee claims Goodell completely ignored a significant amount of electronic information and communications that Brady provided.

“Finally, as to the issue of cooperation, we presented the Commissioner with an unprecedented amount of electronic data, all of which is incontrovertible,” Yee said in a statement, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “I do not think that any private citizen would have agreed to provide anyone with the amount of information that Tom was willing to reveal to the Commissioner. Tom was completely transparent. All of the electronic information was ignored; we don’t know why. The extent to which Tom opened up his private life to the Commissioner will become clear in the coming days.”

Yee previously attacked the Ted Wells report and said investigators should have shared their interview notes with the public. Wells encouraged Yee to publish them, but he never did. It would certainly be interesting if someone published the electronic information that Goodell supposedly ignored, but that will likely have to wait for federal court.

The bottom line here is it looks awful that Brady destroyed his cell phone, and his excuse for doing it doesn’t make sense. No verbal attack on Goodell is going to change that.
