Tom Brady calf injury leads to rampant speculation
In just a few short hours on Thursday, Tom Brady went from missing a practice, to having a calf injury, to having a serious injury, to having a torn calf muscle, to having a torn ACL, to being out for the entire 2014 season. This is the world we live in. Thanks a lot, Twitter.
All jokes aside, we have no idea what the extent of Brady’s injury is. What we do know — and have gathered from reputable beat writers and reporters — is that Brady is nursing some sort of calf injury. The New England Patriots quarterback missed Thursday’s practice, which may have been precautionary. That said, any injury that keeps your star quarterback out of practice this close to the season opener is always a bit concerning.
Still, Patriots fans need not panic. Several people who actually know what they’re talking about, the Boston Globe’s Shalise Manza Young and ESPNBoston.com’s Mike Reiss being two of them, are reporting that Brady is not expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
Brady was not on initial injury report. We'll see if that changes today. Regardless, source says he will be ready Sunday, as 1 would expect.

Again, Brady must be hurting if he missed one of New England’s final tuneups before its first game that counts. He’s also 37, so minor injuries might bother him a bit more than they used to. But Patriots fans and fantasy football owners have no need to jump off a cliff until reputable sources start showing concern.
