Tom Brady documentary delayed by Super Bowl loss

Tom Brady

If you’re a big fan of Tom Brady and his Facebook documentary, the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl loss just got even worse for you.

Gotham Chopra, the filmmaker of the “Tom vs. Time” documentary, admitted that the final part of the production was delayed thanks to the Patriots’ Super Bowl loss throwing a wrench in the planned ending.

“Everyone keeps asking me about Chapter 6 of ‘Tom vs Time’ and when it’s going to be ready,” Chopra wrote on Facebook. “The truth is we had a plan, but unconsciously, it was tied to the Pats winning the Super Bowl and, when that didn’t happen (congrats, Eagles!), I felt like we needed to pause and recalibrate.”

Chopra said his crew had in-depth access during the playoffs, including content about Brady’s mysterious hand injury. He admitted, however, that the footage may not be emphasized based on the last interview he did with Brady.

“Tom was both reflective and upbeat, very present and disappointed in last Sunday’s loss, while also gracious toward the Eagles for their impressive victory and already unpacking everything to find the lesson in it,” Chopra wrote. “As a fan, I can say I got some great closure and I hope Tom did too in just talking about it. I can tell he’s burning up still on the inside. But I am also reminded why the guy is the GOAT and it’s all gonna be OK.”

This is, mind you, a documentary that Brady’s superiors may not even have known about. Sadly for Brady, it isn’t even getting the happy ending he’d have wanted.
