Tom Brady had hilarious quote about his block

Tom Brady hasn’t gotten to showcase his blocking ability very often in 19 NFL seasons, so Monday’s game against Buffalo made for quite an amusing scene.

During the first quarter of the eventual 25-6 win, the New England Patriots quarterback threw a block for wide receiver Julian Edelman on an end-around trick play. The 41-year-old was barreled to the turf by Bills linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, but he gave Edelman just enough daylight to pick up the first down with a gain of six yards.

After the game, Brady gave a hilarious quote about his block. The three-time league MVP called himself more of a “speed bump” on the play than anything, per Jeff Howe of The Athletic.

The Internet was actually pretty impressed by Brady’s block, believe it or not. After all, the Patriots did get the first down and the W, so it’s safe to say he did his job, regardless of how ugly it may have looked.
