Tom Brady misses practice after being hit hard by Bucs
Tom Brady is on pace to be sacked more times this year than any other season in his NFL career, and all of the hits may finally be taking their toll on the New England Patriots quarterback.
Brady was absent from the media portion of practice on Tuesday. While it’s unclear if the absence was injury-related, Brady was sacked three times by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in last Thursday’s 19-14 win. And the Bucs got their money’s worth every time they hit him.
Brady landed hard on his left arm on the first sack he took v. TB. Head also hit the turf. Third sack was a hard shot to right arm/shoulder.

The Patriots have been historically bad on defense this year, and that has taken some of the spotlight off of their offensive line. Brady has always been at his best when he can stand in the pocket and dissect opposing defenses, and his linemen aren’t giving him a ton of opportunities to do that this year. That’s never a good thing when your quarterback is on the wrong side of 40.
After Thursday’s game, Brady acknowledged that he took some hits but said he will be ready to go for Week 6 against the New York Jets.
