Tom Brady reportedly has swelling, soreness in knee

Tom Brady

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, but that does not mean he is fully healthy.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Brady has been dealing with soreness and swelling in his knee.

It’s no surprise that Brady is playing, as the only time he has ever missed time in his career is when he tore his ACL in 2008. That said, this past week was also the first time in more than five years that Brady has missed two practices with an injury. There’s reason to believe he is actually hurting.

Brady is rumored to have suffered the knee injury two weeks ago when Kam Chancellor hit him in New England’s loss against the Seattle Seahawks, though you can guess how he responded when asked about it earlier this week. While it’s a positive sign that Brady appeared perfectly fine while lighting up the San Francisco 49ers last week, it’s somewhat concerning that the injury is lingering.
