Tom Brady signs two-year extension with Patriots
The New England Patriots are banking on Tom Brady being their starting quarterback for at least another four seasons.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Dianna Russini report that Brady and the Patriots have agreed to a two-year contract extension, which will keep the 38-year-old with the team through 2019.
Tom Brady and Patriots reached agreement on 2-year contract extension, tying him to NE through 2019, league sources told @diannaESPN and me.

The deal is probably more of a contract restructure than anything, which is something Brady has done several times throughout his career. By signing Brady to an extension, the Patriots likely freed up more salary cap space in the short-term and deferred Brady’s money further down the road.
