Report: Tom Coughlin could resign on Monday

Tom Couglin

Tom Coughlin’s tenure as coach of the New York Giants could be coming to an end.

According to a report, Coughlin could well resign on Monday after the final game of the season.

“This is a different Tom Coughlin, and I think he’s ready to move away,” FOX Sports NFL insider Mike Garafolo said in an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd Friday. “A lot of people are talking as if it’s an inevitability that on Monday he is going to resign. I am hearing that from a lot of people.”

Coughlin has been very successful as Giants coach, winning two Super Bowl titles and putting up a 102-89 record over twelve seasons. However, many would argue that things have stagnated recently, as the team hasn’t had a winning season since 2012 and has made the playoffs just once since 2008. He turns 70 in August, so it would make sense that Coughlin might be ready to walk away.
