Tom Coughlin still works out at Giants facilities
In what is definitely an odd arrangement, Tom Coughlin is still a regular at the New York Giants’ team facilities.
According to Jordan Raanan of NJ.com, Coughlin visits the team’s East Rutherford facility several days a week for his morning workouts, a situation that the organization has no problem with.
“No, he’s always welcome here,” said co-owner John Mara. “He’s always welcome here. That’s never been an issue.”
In fact, the Giants have not closed the door on giving Coughlin some sort of new role with the team if he wants it.
“I still think he’s trying to figure out what he’s trying to do,” Mara said. “We’ll see. We haven’t closed the door on [returning to the Giants] yet.”
Coughlin’s January departure was spun as being by mutual consent, but it is rather clear that he was pushed out the door by the Giants both through his comments and some of his actions at his final team press conference. On Mara’s side, it seems there aren’t any hard feelings. As for Coughlin, well, if they’re going to let him use the facilities, why not?
