Twitter reacts to ‘Deflategate’ potentially making a comeback

deflated football

The first week of the NFL preseason is typically a quiet one, but that may not be the case this year if Deflategate somehow makes a comeback.

According to Howard Eskin of SportsRadio 94WIP in Philadelphia, at least one football that the Pittsburgh Steelers were using during their exhibition game against the Eagles on Thursday night appeared significantly deflated. The NFL is reportedly investigating to see how that came to be.

While that may sound insignificant (especially in a preseason game), the way the New England Patriots were treated when Tom Brady was accused of orchestrating a ball-deflation scheme has made us all too familiar with air pressure in footballs. Twitter reacted accordingly:

It’s possible there was just one football that had an issue like a leak, but Patriots fans are going to demand that the Steelers be treated the same way their team was — especially in light of the recent information that has come out about Brady’s scandal. Don’t be surprised if the NFL gets out ahead of things to avoid embarrassing itself again.
