Vikings owner sent his private plane to get Adrian Peterson to Sunday’s game

Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson looked like his old self when he rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-14 win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. He was a key in the team’s victory, and Vikings owner Zygi Wilf did whatever he could to ensure his star running back would make the game.

According to Minnesota-based reporter Larry Fitzgerald Sr. (yes, the father of the Cardinals wide receiver), Wilf sent his private plane to pick Peterson up and bring him to the game because the running back was with his wife, who was giving birth:

Peterson’s wife, Ashley, delivered the couple’s second child on Saturday, marking Peterson’s eighth child overall (here’s the rundown on all of them).

Make no mistake about it: Even at age 30 when running backs supposedly hit the career-ending wall, Peterson is still the most valuable player on the Vikings’ offense. Wilf clearly recognizes that and made sure he did what he had to to get his star to the game.

UPDATE: The Vikings reached out to us to say Peterson’s son was born Sunday morning in Minneapolis and that the information from this tweet/article is false.
