Warren Sapp reportedly reaches plea deal in prostitution case

Warren Sapp has reportedly reached a plea agreement in his prostitution case that will allow him to avoid jail time.

According to TMZ, Sapp has pleaded guilty one count of solicitation and one count of assault. As part of the deal, he’ll have to attend one counseling program for each of the two charges. If he fails to complete the programs within 160 days, he could face up to 30 days in jail.

As TMZ notes, Sapp has already completed the “Prostitution Solicitation Diversion Program” and must now complete a program related to the assault charge. He has also been ordered to pay restitution to each escort who was involved in the incident — $150 to Quying Boyd and $1,171.24 to Britney Osbourne.

While Sapp has already lost his job and an endorsement deal as a result of the Feb. 2 incident, the plea deal is very favorable for him considering some of the details that have emerged since his arrest. A video was released last month that shows Boyd and Osbourne describing how Sapp allegedly attacked them. A separate video shows Sapp admitting to police that he said some nasty things to the women.

The former NFL star seems fortunate to avoid jail time.
