Report: Washington still offering Kirk Cousins $20 million, low guarantee
Kirk Cousins seems to be no closer to signing an extension with Washington today than he was several months ago, and that could be because the team has not budged from its initial offer.
A report from February claimed Washington has offered Cousins a contract with an average annual value of $20 million, and the two sides were not close to an agreement. Mike Jones of the Washington Post said Thursday that the offer, which reportedly includes a low total of guaranteed money, has not been upped.
Skins haven't extended a new offer to Cousins, source says. same deal @MasterTes reported on in feb. Roughly $20M per and low guarantee.

Cousins is set to earn roughly $24 million wit the franchise tag this season. He made $20 million playing under the tag last year, so he is in a position to hit the open market next March after having pocketed $44 million. He can expect at least that much in guaranteed money when he signs a multi-year deal, which is likely why Cousins is content to wait things out.
Not to mention, there have been rumors that Cousins is not going to sign a long-term deal with Washington no matter how much they offer, as he reportedly does not want to continue working for the same boss. There’s a chance — albeit a small one — that Washington could trade Cousins around draft time.
