Weirdo Daniel Rago Arrested for Slapping Devin Hester in Head at Casino

Since we are always so quick to jump on professional athletes when they handle themselves like idiots in public, we should be just as quick to give someone like Devin Hester credit when deserved.  According to TribLocal.com via Pro Football Talk, Hester was standing in line at the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, Ill. last week when a man came up and slapped him in the back of the head for no apparent reason.  Rather than let his emotions take over, Hester notified casino security.

The man — 52-year-old Daniel Rago — approached Hester, slapped him in the back of the head, and walked away according to Des Plaines Police Chief Jim Prandini.  Prandini noted that “no big scene took place” and said Hester was “very professional” throughout the incident.  Rago was charged with one misdemeanor count of battery and released on $100 bond.

First of all, this Rago guy was obviously either hammered, a moron, or both.  We have no idea why he slapped Hester in the head out of nowhere, but we do know it was likely for no good reason.  Had Hester turned around and thrown a swing, you couldn’t really blame him after being attacked out of the blue.  However, he handled it the right way.  We love to trash athletes when they do something stupid or get into fights, so we might as well praise the ones who do the right thing when slapped by some idiot.  Bravo, Devin Hester.
