Willie Young gets penalty on sack, still finishes celebration (Video)
Willie Young wasn’t about to let a penalty flag get in the way of a perfectly good sack celebration.
The Chicago Bears defensive lineman smashed Matt Stafford for a sack on a 2nd-and-10 play at the Bears’ 18 in the third quarter of the Thanksgiving Day game between the teams. The problem is Young grabbed Stafford around the neck and was penalized for roughing the passer.
Despite seeing the referees throw a flag and knowing a penalty was coming, Young decided to do his sack celebration. While the guy was gone fishing, the Lions got an automatic first down and 15 yards. They ended up scoring to go up 31-17.
Nice job, meat. But I actually thought that penalty was a bad call. What’s the guy supposed to do?
