Chris Crawford’s caddy breaks ankle falling into bunker at Oakmont
Most of the talk leading up to the 2016 U.S. Open has centered on how difficult the course conditions at Oakmont Country Club are going to be. If you want to know how rough it is out there, just ask the unlucky caddy who injured his ankle on the course Tuesday.
Amateur golfer Chris Crawford’s caddy reportedly fell into a bunker during a practice round and suffered a broken ankle.

Crawford was playing with Jason Day at the time, and the caddy tried not to disrupt the World No. 1 golfer’s round despite obviously dealing with a significant injury.
Caddy slid down grass slope & into sand right behind @JDayGolf – we heard crack. He tried 2 stay quiet to let JD hit! Obvs JD helped instead

Caddy falls behind @JDayGolf and says. "I've snapped my ankle but go ahead Jason. I'll be okay!" Medics called. Hospital bound. #Oakmont

Phil Mickelson, winner of five majors, said recently that this year’s U.S. Open course is the most difficult he has ever played. The rough is incredibly thick, but apparently that isn’t the only issue. Crawford’s caddy is proof of that.
