Henrik Stenson snaps club over his leg (Video)
We saw some players shoot low scores in the opening round of the British Open on Thursday, but there was still plenty of the standard frustration we have grown used to seeing at Scottish links style courses. Henrik Stenson went into the 17th hole at 1-over on the day, and he finished the 17th with one less club in his bag.
Stenson hit a poor tee shot with a wedge and was not pleased about it. When his caddie reached out to take the club from him, Stenson snapped it over his knee and handed it over in two pieces.
Stenson also broke his driver in frustration during a tournament last season, so he is known for having a bit of a temper on the course. Charl Schwartzel also snapped a club during last year’s British Open. No tournament tests a player’s patience more than The Open.
