Kenny Perry hits best shot of US Open (Video)
The best shot of the 2014 US Open came from the oldest player in the field. Kenny Perry, a 53-year-old veteran who has 23 wins as a professional, holed out for eagle from over 200 yards out on the 14th hole on Saturday.
Perry’s tee shot ended up in the treacherous sand and weeds that now sit where the thick rough used to be at Pinehurst No. 2. He was lucky enough to get a decent lie and hit a perfect hybrid shot that bounced on the front of the green and rolled about 25 feet straight into the hole.
Perry isn’t in contention, but not many players are with the way Martin Kaymer has played through two rounds. Regardless, that shot was one of the highlights of the golf season.
