This could be old news to everyone, but that doesn’t make it any less amazing. Apparently they keep it old school at Augusta National — even during the year’s most celebrated golf event. Perhaps the food and beer prices at the Masters are so stunning to me because I attended the Deutsche Bank Championship over the summer and some of the prices were worse than Fenway Park. $8.50 for a beer? Check. $7.00 for a crappy sandwich? Check.
You can’t get better prices for beer at a bar and you can’t get better prices for sandwiches from your grandmother. The latter might not charge you anything, but you’ll still have to have that awkward conversation with her where you talk about your girlfriend and answer questions about that blog post you did on those girls in the bikinis. Here’s hoping Rory McIlroy is about 84 hours away from celebrating with a green jacket and $3.75 pint of Guinness.
