Tiger Woods reportedly books lodging for two upcoming tournaments
While it remains unclear if Tiger Woods will play golf at any point this season, we are starting to see signs that he is inching closer to a return. Could that return come as early as this month?
Last week, Woods got his fans excited when he registered for the 2016 U.S. Open, which is set to take place on June 16. Not long after that news surfaced, Reuters reported that Woods has booked accommodations for the Players Championship in Florida on May 12 through 15. Tiger is also said to have secured lodging for the Memorial Invitational, which will be held two weeks before the U.S. Open on June 2.
None of this necessarily means Woods will play again on the PGA Tour this season, but it certainly implies that the possibility exists. Considering how bad one report claimed things had gotten for Tiger’s physical health back in February, the steps he is taking can only be viewed as a positive.
Woods has given hints that he is making progress in his rehab from another back procedure by sharing videos of himself working on his swing. He’s going to return at some point, but it remains to be seen how effective he can be when he does.
