Weed is allowed at the US Open, but you can’t smoke it

Marijuana

The 2015 U.S. Open is being played at Chambers Bay in Washington. Marijuana, as many of you know, has been legalized for recreational use in the state of Washington. So people can spark one up while watching a golf major, right?

Not exactly.

While US Open officials told Brian Floyd of SB Nation that patrons will be allowed on the grounds with marijuana, it is illegal and punishable by fine if you consume marijuana in public. Anyone caught smoking weed would almost certainly be asked to leave the course, at the very least.
