Nelly on Floyd Mayweather: It’s hard talking to a guy who didn’t graduate high school (Video)

Nelly is still dating Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s ex-girlfriend Shantel Jackson, so it is hardly a surprise that the boxing champion and rapper do not get along. During an appearance on Dan Le Batard’s “Highly Questionable” on Monday, Nelly was asked about his beef with Floyd. He said there is no beef, but he was not very convincing.

“I don’t have a beef with Floyd Mayweather, for the most part,” Nelly said. “The whole thing is misunderstood. I try to understand where he’s coming from, which is a little hard to do. I guess it’s one of those things where he is who he is. He’s one of those people who doesn’t like the word ‘no’ said to him.”

Nothing too bad in there, right? Nelly and Mayweather clearly don’t get along, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there is “beef” between the two. Of course, that was until Nelly dropped this bomb.

“I don’t know — it’s kind of hard talking to a guy who hasn’t graduated from high school,” he added.

Never mind, there is beef. I’m sure it doesn’t help that people like 50 Cent — who used to be friends with Mayweather until they had a falling out — are playing the role of instigator. Over the weekend, 50 shared a photo of Nelly and Jackson (that Nelly had previously posted) on Instagram and ripped on Floyd. He later deleted it.

“Nelly put this up @floydmayweather DAMN da ni**a really took your lady Champ,” 50 wrote. “It’s @missjackson birthday. Smh.”

Why do I feel a tiny bit badly for a guy who makes $100 million per year and has an enormous mouth? Actually, scratch that — I just talked myself out of it.
