Rory McIlroy ‘very happy’ with girlfriend Erica Stoll
Rory McIlroy ended his engagement with Caroline Wozniacki roughly one year ago, and he has since moved on to a new woman — one who works in his own field.
Rumors of McIlroy dating PGA employee Erica Stoll surfaced back in January. While McIlroy did not mention Stoll by name in a recent interview with the Times Magazine, he essentially confirmed that the two have been dating.
“I have met someone new,” the World No. 1 golfer said, via the Irish Independent. “She doesn’t play golf, but she is involved with golf. I have known her for three years and we are good friends … If everything off the golf course is good, it allows you to be better on it as well.
“I am very happy in my love life. We haven’t really been putting it out there. She is from America, which is why I like to spend time in Palm Beach (in Florida). The past six or seven months have been really nice. That part of my life is going great.”
After missing the cut at the Irish Open over the weekend, McIlroy and Stoll took in the final round together. They were photographed holding hands.
It seems like it was just yesterday that McIlroy and Wozniacki were engaged, though their relationship has been kept fresh with stuff like Woz getting accused of taking a shot at Rory on Twitter. For what it’s worth, Wozniacki has been spotted with an NFL star who she may be dating. Both she and Rory appear to be doing just fine.
