High school basketball player arrested for allegedly hitting student in stands
A high school basketball player in the Santa Clarity Valley area of California was arrested for alleged assault following his team’s game on Tuesday night.
West Ranch (Valencia, Calif.) High School defeated rival Golden Valley 68-58 in a Foothill League contest at West Ranch. Golden Valley apparently was taunted throughout the game, and at its conclusion, chaos broke out. One of Golden Valley’s top players went into the stands and allegedly assaulted a student.
The LA Times says the student was treated by paramedics for lacerations on his face.
The alleged perpetrator returned to Golden Valley with his teammates on a school bus and was arrested at the campus.
Some reports said that a few female students were hurt, but one witness says that was not the case.
