Henrik Lundqvist was probably the biggest reason the New York Rangers reached the Stanley Cup Finals and were as competitive as they were against the Los Angeles Kings.
The veteran goalie stopped 40 of 41 shots in a 2-1 Game 4 victory for the Rangers at home against the Kings on Wednesday night. He stopped 48 shots in Game 5 on Friday, but he let Alec Martinez put a rebound past him late in the second overtime to give the Kings the series.
Lundqvist’s reaction to losing the game and series was just heartbreaking. The guy truly played his butt off, but he goes home a loser like the other 29 teams in the league.
What a shame — he was awesome throughout the postseason. I don’t think he’ll ever get over that one.Google+
