Kevin Klein loses part of his ear, scores game-winning goal

Kevin-Klein-ear-bleeding

New York Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein lost a piece of his ear on Monday night, but it didn’t stop him from winning a game for his team.

Klein took a high stick from Pittsburgh Penguins forward Zach Sill in the first period, and his ear was bleeding pretty badly. He went into the locker room to have it stitched up, and Rangers coach Alain Vigneault would later reveal that Klein actually needed 13 stitches to reattach a piece of his ear.

Fortunately, Klein didn’t have to pick his ear up off the ice like we have seen some hockey players do with their teeth.

Guess who returned to score the game-winning goal in overtime? Klein’s OT winner was just his sixth goal of the season. It gave the Rangers a 4-3 win over the Penguins. Maybe he should get cranked in the ear more often.
