Coyotes G Mike Smith gets puck stuck in pants, carries it into net for OT winner (Video)

Mike-Smith-puck-in-pantsTough breaks sometime result in losses, but the Phoenix Coyotes fell victim to a bad break on Monday night that may not be topped this season. The Buffalo Sabres beat Phoenix in overtime when Coyotes goalie Mike Smith let up an own goal — if you can even call it that.

Smith came out of the net for a poke check and managed to pop the puck into the air. When it came down, the puck ended up in the back of his pants. Naturally, Smith had no idea the puck was in his pants and he retreated to cover the net. His backside crossed the goal line in the process and the Sabres picked up the win.

Smith, who likes to get a rise out of people judging by this mullett, had a hilarious sense of humor about the play after the game.

The Butt Goal is one Smith and everyone else who was involved will never forget.
