Wild’s Coyle says team left Devan Dubnyk ‘out to dry’
The Minnesota Wild went out of the Stanley Cup Playoff with a whimper, and at least one player feels badly about what happened to goalie Devan Dubnyk.
The Wild were blanked 5-0 by the Winnipeg Jets on Friday to get eliminated from the postseason in five games. Dubnyk allowed four goals in the first period to get chased from the game. It didn’t matter a ton as the Wild were shutout for the second straight game anyway.
Center Charlie Coyle felt badly that Dubnyk bore the embarrassment for the failings of the entire team.
Charlie Coyle on Devan Dubnyk getting pulled after the rest of the #MNWIld left him hung out to dry: "It's not right. It's not right. It's not fair to him. We left him out to dry. That's not what a good team does, especially in a big game. It's unacceptable."

Getting pulled during a blowout loss is the last way Dubnyk wanted to go out after a strong regular season.
Dubnyk allowed 14 goals in five games during the series and clearly was not at his best. But like Coyle said, it was a poor effort by the entire team in the series.
