Did Chicago radio host Les Grobstein crap himself in studio?

Les-GrobsteinChicago sports radio personality Les Grobstein may have had himself a little in-studio accident earlier this week. If you listened to the “The Mully and Hanley Show” on 670 The Score in Chicago Tuesday morning, you would have heard hosts Mike Mulligan and Brian Hanley joking about some sort of foul stench that they walked in on.

Mully and Hanley made mention of pink eye, hazmat suits, and horses that poop wherever they stand and can’t help when they go to the bathroom. It was obvious that something was going on, though they didn’t directly reveal what the problem was.

The hosts of “The McNeil and Spiegel Show,” which comes on after Mully and Hanley, were not so kind to Grobstein. They spoke about the incident much more clearly. Deadspin transcribed some of their discussion for us.

“I guess Dustin, to his credit, came in here and did everything that a producer is — above and beyond what you would expect and cleaned everything up, I guess there was some mopping going on … It had to be liquid … The word is that he immediately left the building through the back door by Mitch’s, and went right into the elevator and left…”

McNeil and Spiegel then specified that the “he” they were referring to was “Grobber,” which is Grobstein’s nickname.

Poor Grobber. Most of us have been there before, but our stories aren’t shared with millions of radio listeners — ruthless sports fans, no less. The only one who can truly understand Grobstein’s pain is George Brett.
