Stuart Scott says his cancer has returned

Longtime ESPN anchor Stuart Scott announced on Twitter Monday night that he is once again battling cancer.

Stuart-Scott-cancerScott, who is now 47 years old, was originally diagnosed with appendiceal cancer back in 2007 after undergoing an emergency appendectomy. He has had an off-and-on fight with cancer over the past several years, also needing chemotherapy in 2011.

Unsurprisingly, the always-upbeat Scott said he is going to do everything he can to work around his treatments and not allow them to affect his schedule with ESPN.

Scott also retweeted and thanked a number of people who have shown him support, including superstars like Robert Griffin III, Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul, among many others. He appeared on the 11 p.m. edition of SportsCenter after making the announcement on Twitter and seemed to be the same old Stuart.

Our thoughts and support are with Stuart as he once again tries to overcome one of the most difficult obstacles life can put in your way.
