Stuart Scott ESPYs speech revisited (Video)
Longtime ESPN anchor Stuart Scott lost his battle with cancer on Sunday at the age of 49. Among the many things Scott will be remembered for is his incredible acceptance speech at the 2014 ESPY Awards.
Scott was presented with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award in July. His speech was powerful enough to make most people cry. This is the quote that will likely live on forever.
“You beat cancer by HOW you live, WHY you live, and in the manner in WHICH you live.”
Scott stressed the importance of having people around you to support you in your fight with cancer. At the end of the speech, Stu called his daughter up on stage to give her a hug.
It’s hard to imagine SportsCenter without Scott. He will be missed.
