Dana White reportedly cuts ties with the Palms

Dana White reportedly has cut ties with the Palms hotel in Las Vegas, which could help explain why the casino/resort is not hosting “The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale” in December.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, White became upset with the hotel when his credit line was cut in half about six and a half months ago. He immediately cut ties with the hotel.

The last UFC even held at the Palms was “The Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale” on June 1. The Palms had a contract to host the TUF finales, but TUF 16 Finale in December will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel instead. The UFC hadn’t held an event at the Hard Rock since 2006.

Not only will the lack of UFC events hurt the Palms, but White’s absence may also be bad for business.

The Review-Journal reports that White was a huge tipper and regularly gave thousands to dealers. He also reportedly ran up thousand dollar dinner bills at a steakhouse in the casino on a regular basis and gave great tips there too. The tabs were said to be $15,000-$20,000, and that he would throw in $10,000 tips regularly.

White declined comment on the story. We figure there has to be something more to the story to explain the Palms’ decision for the move, because it would seem foolish for them to offend White for no good reason.
