Georges St-Pierre preparing for UFC comeback?

Georges-St-Pierre-Has-Plan-For-Retirement

Georges St-Pierre has been away from the UFC for almost a year now. The former welterweight champion vacated his title when he took a break from competition following his win over Johnny Hendricks last November. He then tore his ACL while training back in March. Has the time finally come for St-Pierre to return to the octagon?

On Tuesday, Canadian journalist Steven Chmielash spotted St-Pierre having lunch with UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta and UFC president Dana White at the prestigious Toque restaurant in downtown Montreal. White would not confirm that he was with St-Pierre or say what the meeting was about.

“The good news is Canada has amazing steak!” White said in a text message to MMAJunkie.com.

White did, however, write on Instagram that he and Fertitta had flown to Chicago for a dinner meeting and then to Montreal for a “breakfast meeting,” though he did not say with whom the two men met.

After St-Pierre announced he was taking a break from fighting, there were rumors that he had impregnated a woman and was dealing with some legal trouble. A later report indicated that St-Pierre had some health concerns he wanted to alleviate.

St-Pierre is 33 and 19-2 in his UFC career. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in the octagon in the near future.
