Jordan Parsons taken off life support, dies from hit-and-run accident

Jordan Parsons

MMA fighter Jordan Parsons died on Wednesday after his family made the decision to take him off life support following a hit-and-run accident in Boca Raton, Florida, on Sunday.

Parsons was hit by someone believed to be driving a 2012 or 2013 silver Range Rover Sport who fled the scene. Parsons, who was 11-2 in his professional MMA career, is believed to have been wearing headphones at the time, which may have contributed to him not being able to hear the car. He was in a coma and already had his leg amputated before his family decided to take him off life support.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a dear member of the Bellator family, Jordan Parsons. Jordan was an exceptional athlete and a rising star in the sport. But more importantly, he was an exceptional young man. Jordan was hard-working, dedicated, intelligent, and a pleasure to be around. He represented all the reasons we love this sport. It is a terribly tragic loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and teammates,” Bellator President Scott Coker said in a statement.

Parsons had been training with the Blackzilians in Boca Raton and was preparing for a fight at Bellator 154 on May 14.

Delray Beach Police are still making great efforts to bring justice to the driver who hit Parsons.
