Ronda Rousey is ‘really f—ing sad,’ can’t even eat an apple

Ronda Rousey face

Ronda Rousey has gone silent since she was knocked out by Holly Holm in one of the most stunning upsets in UFC history nearly a month ago, and that is because she is still in a great deal of pain — both physically and emotionally.

In an issue of ESPN the Magazine that will hit newsstands later this week, Rousey sat down for an interview less than two weeks after losing to Holm. She described herself as “really f—ing sad” and said it will be a while before she can fight again.

“It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact,” Rousey revealed, according to a sneak preview from People.

Rousey added that she still had stitches in her lip at the time and a few of her teeth remained unstable.

After she lost her UFC women’s bantamweight title, fans saw Rousey like they have never seen her before. Perhaps the best example was when she covered her face while walking through an airport so people could not see her injuries. Despite her recent misfortunes, Rousey remains optimistic that she can win back her title.

“Maybe I can’t do it all before my prime, before my body is done,” she said. “But f— it, maybe I can.”

Dana White has already guaranteed that Rousey will get a rematch against Holm. If you saw what Holm did to Rousey last month (video here), you can understand why it might be a while before that actually happens.
