Ronda Rousey responds to Wal-Mart banning sale of her book

Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey has responded to Wal-Mart banning the sale of her book in their stores.

Yahoo! reported last week that the giant store banned sales of Rousey’s upcoming memoir, “My Fight/Your Fight,” because they deem her to be too violent. They were allowing people to order her book through their website, though.

On Wednesday, Rousey posted on Instagram about the matter with the adage that “success is the best revenge.”

“Success is the best revenge” one of many lessons I learned from fighting that helped me fight through life’s battles off the mat and outside the octagon. @walmart is welcome to watch the success of this publication from the sidelines if they choose.

Rousey’s book “My Fight/Your Fight” is for sale on Amazon with a May 12 release date. Here is the description of the book:

In this revealing memoir, undefeated UFC champion and Hollywood star Ronda Rousey charts her difficult path to glory, revealing her tragic childhood and her father’s suicide, her meteoric rise to fame, the secret behind her undefeated UFC record, and what it takes to become the toughest woman on Earth.

As Yahoo! pointed out, it seems hypocritical that Wal-Mart sells guns and ammunition in their store but deems what Rousey does in the Octagon as too violent.

Rousey, the undefeated UFC women’s bantamweight champion, has been proving people wrong her entire life. It wasn’t that long ago that Dana White said there wouldn’t be women in the UFC, and now Rousey is one of their biggest stars. She has also been deemed “too sexy” for magazines before, so she is used to this sort of thing.
