Olympic athletes using mosquito nets indoors to protect against Zika
Mosquito nets are typically used to keep bugs away when you’re camping somewhere or sleeping outdoors, but you can’t be too careful in Rio.
In order to protect themselves against the Zika virus, Olympic athletes have been using mosquito netting while sleeping in their beds in the Olympic village. Team China shared some photos on Twitter:

Several athletes chose to skip the Olympics because of the threat of the Zika virus (here are five of the most notable), which can lead to serious birth defects among other complications. Those who have gone to Rio are obviously taking a risk, and you can’t blame them for going to great lengths to protect themselves.
