Ryan Lochte jokes saying he lied are out of control
Ryan Lochte is back home safely in the United States while his swimming buddies were left in Brazil to deal with the fallout to their alleged robbery.
Lochte told police that he and three other US swim team members were robbed at gunpoint Sunday. They said alcohol was involved and their stories apparently had multiple holes. Lochte didn’t initially want to report the robbery, but he ended up giving a statement to police after his mom shared the robbery news with the media, leading the story to get headlines.
The IOC initially denied the story but then they said Lochte and the swimmers gave statements to police. A judge in Brazil pointed out inconsistencies in the story and ordered Lochte and Jimmy Feigen to stay in Brazil. Other teammates Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger were pulled off flights in Brazil to answer questions.
Many people online believe Lochte lied and made up his story and produced some incredible tweets about it.

Look, all I’m saying is that “Dumb as hell swimmer who travels the world for events” is a REALLY good cover for an international jewel thief

If you're making up a robbery at gunpoint story either:
A. You're a terrible liar
B. What you actually did was WAY worse
C. Both A and B— Will Brinson (@WillBrinson) August 18, 2016

Those other two swimmers: so we're gonna say we got robbed at gunpoint and get a bunch of headlines and publicity?
