All four Ryan Lochte sponsors sever ties over Rio incident
Ryan Lochte has lost all four of his major commercial sponsors as part of the fallout from his dishonesty over an incident that happened in a Rio gas station.
According to Matt Bonesteel of the Washington Post, Ralph Lauren, Airweave, Gentle Hair Removal, and the previously reported Speedo all severed their ties with Lochte on Monday.
According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Lochte is losing a significant sum of money on account of the lost sponsorships.
Industry sources tell me Lochte lost about $1 million in current endorsement deals today.

Rovell also notes that the Ralph Lauren endorsement deal was the most significant financially, but it was to expire after the Olympics and the company simply decided not to renew it.
Lochte probably hasn’t seen the last of the consequences for his actions in Rio. He simply says he intends to keep swimming.
