NFL Picks Week 12 against the spread – Doc’s picks

The picks this season have been disastrous for Doc and Del, and there are only six weeks left to make a turnaround and head for .500 town. The only good news is Doc locked in for a 2-1 week on the Top 3, which is no small victory these days.

Hopefully the trend continues in Week 12. Picks listed below, along with some analysis.

NFL PICKS WEEK 12
(ATS = Against the Spread, SU = Straight Up)

Doc Brown picks

Doc is liking the Chargers to cover the 4.5 point spread at Kansas City this weekend. San Diego has had a tough 3-game stretch and has lost three in a row entering this one, but they could catch the Chiefs off-guard. KC just lost a big one to the Denver Broncos and likely will need another week to completely get on track. Plus, the Chargers have been competitive in all of their games lately and should continue that trend. Who knows? A play or two finally goes their way and they could win this one outright.

The Doc likes the Chicago Bears to cover at St. Louis. Both teams have been using backup quarterbacks, and while Kellen Clemens led the Rams to victory before their bye, Josh McCown has been much better overall. The guy has thrown five touchdowns and no picks in his last two games. He might make some mistakes on Sunday, but the Bears are still the better team. The Doc likes them to win.

The Dolphins are a big surprise pick this weekend. The Carolina Panthers beat the New England Patriots on Monday night and are likely crowing now that they have won six in a row. They’re surely a much better team than Miami, but they won’t bring their A-game the way they have the last two weekends to knock off two of the NFL’s top teams. Miami hasn’t scored more than 23 points in a game since Week 3, so we’re not expecting them to break out. But they can catch Carolina off their game and win a game in the teens.
