Report: Soccer match in Germany cancelled due to concerns over car bomb
A friendly soccer match that was scheduled to be played between Germany and the Netherlands was cancelled on Tuesday due to a security threat in the city of Hannover.
The BBC reports that the stadium was evacuated less than two hours before kickoff after police became aware of a “concrete security threat.” Volker Kluwe, Hannover’s head of police, told the BBC that “there were plans for some kind of explosion.” Reports on Twitter indicated that an ambulance was found with explosive devices inside.
